The Department of Psychology at the University of Delaware invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor
position in the area of Social Neuroscience to begin in September of
2011. The Social Psychology faculty at UD focus on interpersonal and
intergroup processes with particular research interests in prejudice
reduction, discrimination and racism, social value orientation, social
dilemmas, perceived personality, individualism/collectivism,
cross-cultural differences, and health psychology. The group seeks an
Assistant or Associate Professor with a neuroscientific/biological
approach. Applicants for the position should include a cover letter

Research Assistant Position Available

Prof. Angela Gutchess in the Psychology department at Brandeis University is looking for a Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will coordinate behavioral and neuroimaging (fMRI) data collection for studies of aging, culture, and memory. The position involves traveling to collect data at the off-site fMRI center with other members of the research team, in addition to scheduling and testing participants for studies at the laboratory. Coordination of office tasks as needed, including screening of potential research participants, data coding, stimulus creation, coordinating student research assistants, and administrative duties.

Research scholarship for Postdoctoral studies

Karolinska Institute announced a research scholarship for Postdoctoral studies in Social&Affective Cognitive Neuroscience They are seeking a highly talented, innovative and enthusiastic researcher with a PhD awarded within the last three years in Social or Affective Cognitive Neuroscience or related disciplines to work on behavioural and/or fMRI projects related to the interplay between body self-perception and social and affective cognitive processes. Specifically, they are looking for somebody to use ‘out-of-body illusion’ and the ‘body-swapping illusion’ (Ehrsson 2007 Science; Petkova & Ehrsson 2008 PLOS ONE) as novel tools to investigate the role of owning a body for social cognition and the affective self-image. The research will be conducted at the Brain, Body and Self Laboratory (www.ehrssonlab.se) at the Department of Neuroscience and Stockholm Brain Institute, under the supervision of Dr Henrik Ehrsson and Dr. Andreas Olsson. 2008/2009 Impact Factor Just Came Out

Some days ago, the 2008/2009 Journal Citation Reports of ISI Web of Knowledge have been published.
Journal Citation Reports are composed of two parts: the Science Edition and the Social Sciences Edition, in which journals are ranked according their impact factor during the last year.
In the Science Edition, we can find a category called “Neurosciences”, with three journals of the Nature Publishing Group in the top 5 journals of this category; with Nature Reviews Neuroscience having the highest impact factor in this category during the last year

- Annual Review of Neuroscience (24.822)
- Behavioral and Brain Sciences (19.045)
