Psychopharmacology and Neuroscience Course

The course will provide a comprehensive update of recent clinical and preclinical advances in the drug treatment of mental disorders.
The course objectives are: (1) review preclinical concepts regarding the mechanism of action of psychopharmacologic agents, (2) present advances in clinical psychopharmacology including new drug development and new treatment approaches, and (3) integrate basic and clinical neuroscience into a comprehensive framework, which enables optimal clinical psychopharmacologic techniques.

The Seminar will provide grants to the trainees selected. The Seminar lasts 5 days (trainees are required to arrive on Sunday and not depart before the last session on Friday).

The Department of Psychology at the University of Delaware invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor
position in the area of Social Neuroscience to begin in September of
2011. The Social Psychology faculty at UD focus on interpersonal and
intergroup processes with particular research interests in prejudice
reduction, discrimination and racism, social value orientation, social
dilemmas, perceived personality, individualism/collectivism,
cross-cultural differences, and health psychology. The group seeks an

Stanford University Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr. Amit Etkin’s laboratory, in collaboration with Dr. Ruth O’Hara’s laboratory, in the Stanford University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship to engage in translational affective neuroscience work in the domains of cognitive neuroscience, affective disorders and neural circuitry. This is an NIH-funded position, and the successful candidate will be co-mentored by Drs. Etkin and O’Hara, and be in the context of the Stanford Mood Disorders Center. Potential projects include deepening our understanding of emotion regulation in late life, investigating dysfunction of emotion regulation and its interaction with cognitive dysfunction in late-life psychiatric disorders, and probing and manipulating neural circuitry with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and concurrent TMS/fMRI. The Psychology Department at Tufts University is seeking applicants at the Assistant/Associate Professor level for a tenure-track position in Social Psychology to begin September 2011. Area of specialization is open. Candidates must have an ongoing research program with evidence of, or strong potential for, extramural funding. In addition to an established research program in Social Psychology, candidates should be interested in forming connections with the Department’s strengths in cognition and neuroscience.
